HTML: A Beginner’s Guide - Download free pdf

HTML: A Beginner’s Guide is that book, offering you practical tools and knowledge that can easily be applied to a variety of development situations, without the boring rhetoric or lengthy technical fluff. This book tells you what you need to know, when you need to know it. In revising this book, I again reviewed competing books to determine what readers wanted and needed in a “new” HTML book. Again and again, I saw that you wanted a book that combined HTML and cascading style sheets in a way that was easy to understand and use. Furthermore, readers clamored for a beginning-level HTML book that covered the standards-compliant way to code usable web pages. This is that book.

Each chapter includes Tips and Notes to provide additional reference information wherever needed. Detailed code listings are included, many times with certain tags or features highlighted with further explanation. Many chapters contain Ask the Expert question-and-answer sections to address potentially confusing issues. Each chapter contains Try This exercises and step-by-step projects to give you a chance to practice the concepts taught thus far. These projects are based on a real-world web development project I worked on for a nonprofit called Chop Point in Woolwich, Maine. Self Tests are included at the end of each chapter to give you another chance to review the concepts taught in the chapter.

Python is an easy to learn, powerful programming language. It has efficient high-level data structures and a simple but effective approach to object-oriented programming. Python’s elegant syntax and dynamic typing, together with its interpreted nature, make it an ideal language for scripting and rapid application development in many areas on most platforms. The Python interpreter and the extensive standard library are freely available in source or binary form for all major platforms from the Python Web site, http://www.python.org/, and may be freely distributed. The same site also contains distributions of and pointers to many free third party Python modules, programs and tools, and additional documentation. The Python interpreter is easily extended with new functions and data types implemented in C or C++ (or other languages callable from C). Python is also suitable as an extension language for customizable applications.

This tutorial introduces the reader informally to the basic concepts and features of the Python language and system. It helps to have a Python interpreter handy for hands-on experience, but all examples are self-contained, so the tutorial can be read off-line as well.

Microsoft® Visual Basic®  Programming Logic and Design, Sixth Edition (also known as, VB PAL) is designed to provide students with an opportunity to write Visual Basic programs as part of an Introductory Programming Logic course. It is written to be a companion text to the student’s primary text, Programming Logic and Design, Sixth Edition, by Joyce Farrell. Th is textbook assumes
no programming language experience and provides the beginning programmer with a guide to writing structured programs and simple object-oriented programs using introductory elements of the popular
Visual Basic programming language. It is not intended to be a textbook for a course in Visual Basic programming. Th e writing is nontechnical and emphasizes good programming practices. Th e examples do not assume mathematical background beyond high school math.

Operating System Concepts - Galvin

Operating System Concepts: Download PDF

Operating System Concepts - Galvin

This book is written as a text for an introductory course in operating systems at the junior or senior undergraduate level or at the first-year graduate level. We hope that practitioners will also find it useful. It provides a clear description of the concepts that underlie operating systems.Concepts are presented using intuitive descriptions. Important theoretical results are covered, but formal proofs are omitted. The bibliographical notescontain pointers to research papers in which  his book uses examples of many real-world operating systems to illustrate fundamental operating-system concepts. However, particular attention is paid to the Microsoft family of operating systems (including Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP) and various versions of UNIX (including Solaris, BSD, and Mac OS X).results were first presented and proved, as well as references to material for further reading. In place of proofs, figures and examples are used to suggest why we should expect the result in question to be true.

The fundamental concepts and algorithms covered in the book are often based on those used in existing commercial operating systems. Our aim is to present these concepts and algorithms in a general setting that is not tied to one particular operating system. We present a large number of
examples that pertain to the most popular and the most innovative operating systems, including Sun Microsystems ' Solaris; Linux; Mach; Microsoft MS-DOS, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP; DEC VMS and TOPS-20; IBM OS/2; and Apple Mac OS X.

Let Us C - Yashavant P. Kanetkar.pdf

 About the Author :-
Destiny drew Yashavant Kanetkar towards computers when the IT industry was just making a beginning in India. Having completed his education from VJTI Mumbai and IIT Kanpur in Mechanical Engineering he started his training company in Nagpur. Yashavant has a passion for writing and is an author of several books in C, C++, VC++, C#, .NET, DirectX and COM programming. He is a much sought after speaker on various technology subjects and is a regular columnist for Express Computers and Developer 2.0. His current affiliations include being a Director of KICIT, a training company and DCube Software Technologies, a software development company. In recognition to his contribution Microsoft awarded him the prestigious “Best .NET Technical Contributor” award recently

It is mid 2004. World has left behind the DOTCOM bust, 9/11 tragedy, the economic downturn, etc. and moved on. Countless Indians have relentlessly worked for close to two decades to successfully establish “India” as a software brand. At times I take secret pleasure in seeing that a book that I have been part of, has contributed in its own little way in shaping so many budding careers that have made the “India” brand acceptable.
Computing and the way people use C for doing it keeps changing as years go by. So overwhelming has been the response to all the previous editions of “Let Us C” that I have now decided that each year I would come up with a new edition of it so that I can keep the readers abreast with the way C is being used at that point in time.
There are two phases in every C programmer’s life. In the first phase he is a learner trying to understand the language elements and their nuances. At this stage he wants a simple learning environment that helps him to master the language. In my opinion, even today there isn’t any learning environment that can beat Turbo C/C++ for simplicity. Hence the first fifteen chapters are written keeping this environment in mind, though a majority of these programs in these chapters would work with any C compiler.

Core Java - Download : freecomputerbookspdf.blogspot.com/

In late 1995, the Java programming language burst onto the Internet scene and gained instant celebrity status. The promise of Java is that it will become the universal glue that connects users with information, whether that information comes from Web servers, databases, information providers, and any other imaginable source. Indeed Java is in a unique position to fulfill this promise. It is an extremely solidly engineered language that has gained acceptance by all major vendors, except for Microsoft. Its built-in security and safety features are reassuring both to programmers and to the users of Java programs. Java even has built-in support that makes advanced programming tasks, such as network programming, database connectivity, and multithreading, straightforward.
Since then, Sun Microsystems has released four major revisions of the Java Software Development Kit. Version 1.02, released in 1996, supported database connectivity and distributed objects. Version 1.1, released in 1997, added a robust event model, internationalization, and the Java Beans component model. Version 1.2, released at the end of 1998, has numerous enhancements, but one major improvement stands out: the “Swing” user interface toolkit that finally allows programmers to write truly portable GUI applications. Version 1.3, released in the spring of 2000, delivered many incremental improvements.

Microsoft Computer Dictionary : Download PDF

Microsoft Computer Dictionary

Microsoft Computer Dictionary : http://freecomputerbookspdf.blogspot.com/

The Microsoft Computer Dictionary, Fifth Edition is designed to be a comprehensive and authoritative source of definitions for computer-related terms and abbreviations.
The dictionary includes terms drawn from a wide variety of topics relevant to computer users, including software, hardware, networking, data storage, graphics, games, information processing, the Internet and the World Wide
Web, gaming, history, jargon and slang, organizations, programming,
and standards. Although this book covers nearly every aspect of computing,
it does not include entries on most companies or on most makes and models of computers, nor does it contain entries on most application software products. The few exceptions to this rule of thumb are key companies and products that have a historical or universal importance within the computing industry.
This dictionary emphasizes terminology that the average computer user will encounter in documentation, online help, computer manuals, marketing and sales materials, the popular media, and the computer trade press. Because most computer users operate personal computers and desktop systems at home, work, or both, the majority of the entries in this dictionary cover the terminology used in describing and working with these systems. However, some specialized or highly technical language is included that pertains to areas of industry, academia, software and hardware development, and research. These terms have been included because they have a bearing on more common computer terminology or because they are of historical
significance.
